Mulmur Hills

A passive solar timber home designed to maximize the stunning views & blend with the surrounding landscape.

“Going against convention, the homeowners went outside their comfort zone and fell in love with this home.”

ANDREW HOTARI

Design Goals

The homeowners came to us after setting foot in a home we previously designed. As home builders themselves, they appropriated the custom nature and beauty of the house and wanted their own. Built to maximize the views from atop a hill and let natural light in, they were wowed by the results.

Enjoy the views.

Nestled in Mulmur hills, the homeowners wanted to capture the property's stunning views.

Natural light.

Light was a key consideration in this custom home project. Orienting the home to maximize natural light and enjoy the sunsets was integral to the design.

Hilly location.

Designing the home to blend in with the hills and not stand out was a key goal. By working with the slope, we could make it happen.

Happy Homeowners

Collaboration made this a success. They got a home that they loved, even though some elements were a little outside their comfort zone.

Working from a model.

Having seen a home that we designed, the homeowners could work from an existing model that we could easily modify to fit their needs.

Lasting relationship.

Relationship building is an integral part of the process. When they wanted to add a secondary garage, we were there to support them.
